The FY2014 general budget proposal of Taipei Municipal Government has been approved by Taipei City Council on December 31, 2013. The approved annual revenue for the FY2014 amounts to NT$160.85 billion, showing a 0.54% increase in comparison with the budget proposal while the approved annual expenditure for the FY 2014 stands at NT$171.23 billion, showing a 0.82% decrease against the budget proposal. Compare to the FY2013 general budget, the annual revenue increase 2.67% while the expenditure decrease 3.23%. The amount of the shortfall of the annual revenue and expenditure (NT$10.38 billion) and debt repayment (NT$6.6 billion) will be financed with NT$10 billion worth of bonds and loans, and NT$6.98 billion from the surplus of previous fiscal years.
