Department of Budget, Accounting and Statistics

The data collectors visit or call hundreds of retail stores, service establishments, and rental units to obtain price information on thousands of items for calculation the CPI on the 2^nd, 5^th and 8^th of every ten days each month in Taipei. The data are also transmitted to the Statistics Department of Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, Executive Yuan by the associated system for compiling the national CPI.
